Florence Illig

Florence M. Illig, 98, of Gladwin, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023. She was born on August 17, 1925, the daughter of Urban and Alvena (Beck) Craft in West Branch. On January 19, 1947, she was united in marriage to Jerome Illig in West Branch. He preceded her in death in 2017. She was a farmer’s wife, hardworking, and helping with everything. She was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her sons: Bill (Judy Wyse) Illig, Michael Illig, and Patrick (Gail) Illig; grandchildren: Tim (Melissa) Illig; Julie (Bobby) Klee; Dayna (Ken) Bittner; April (Master Srg. Travis) Zoss and Katie (Lieutenant Colonel Nathan) Carpenter; great grandchildren: Ryan Stenger (Carissa Grenier), Jenna (Trenten Teeling) Kotsko, Joey Kotsko, Mallerie Bittner, Macy Bittner, Emily Zoss, Johnathon Zoss, Cole Carpenter, and Ava Carpenter; great great grandchild: Emersyn Stenger; sister: Sharon Enos.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Jerome; parents; daughter in-law: Debbie Illig; along with 11 brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services will be conducted by Fr. Marcel Portelli on Thursday, October 5, 2023, 12:00 noon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gladwin. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 4-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin. She will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Gladwin.
