Evelyn JoAn Govitz age 69, of Gladwin, Mi., passed away on September 25, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with AML.

Evelyn was born to Clarence & Betty Speary on September 25 th , 1953, in Clare, Mi. Evelyn was 4 th of 7 children.

On October 15 th , 2004. Evelyn married George Govitz who was the love of her life. The two of them shared a very special bond over 18 beautiful years of marriage. Some of the many things they enjoyed doing as a couple; was spending time with their family, time in their large garden, along with canning and sharing the produce with their family, taking breaks under the maple tree, and taking annual trips to the Buckley steam engine show.

Some of the other hobbies that Evelyn enjoyed, was working at the Sacred Heart Mission, watching her beloved Detroit Tigers, and shopping for new purses. Another thing that Evelyn so looked forward to every year was going with her sisters on their annual sisters’ trip. One year they even felt sorry for Bobby and let him come along.

Evelyn enjoyed three years of retirement after working many years for Mid-Michigan Medical Center- Gladwin.

Evelyn leaves behind her husband George, one brother Bob and wife Lisa of South Carolina, Sister Betsy and Husband Bob of Gladwin, Lee of Gladwin, Becky of Gladwin, Son Ross and wife Rebecca of Eastpointe, Mi. Son Chad of Durand, Son Brandon and wife Sarah of Beaverton, Son Alan of Gladwin, Stepson Kelly and Wife Autumn of Gladwin, Stepdaughter Lynne and husband Mark of Beaverton, Stepson Trent and wife Michelle of Gladwin, Stepdaughter Cherri and husband Nick of Texas. Also, to cherish her memory are 29 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.

Evelyn is proceeded in death by her parents Clarence & Betty Speary, two sisters Nancy Reaves, and Linda Myers

Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, September 29, 2022, 11:00 A.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, from 3-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin. She will be laid to rest at Grout Twp.
