On April 5, 2018, Ellen Marie Klein was reunited with her beloved husband, Chuck. Ellen was born in Berkley, MI, on November 18, 1930, to Harold and Leah McAllister. On May 6, 1950, Ellen married the love of her life, Charles Klein. They were blessed with their only child, Deborah, in October 1952.
Ellen devoted 50 years of her life serving and helping others, as she was the heart and soul of the Gladwin emergency room and outpatient admitting departments. Ellen’s co-workers and doctors so respected her that she was often referred to as “Dr. Klein”. Patients would also let it be known that they felt relieved when they saw Ellen’s face as they walked through the ER doors.
Ellen was once an avid crafter and often sold her creations at craft shows. In her later years, she enjoyed taking Haines bus trips with some of her favorite friends. What many will remember most is how much Ellen enjoyed maintaining her yard; but what she loved most was time spent with her family. The family shared laughter and good times and saw many sites while traveling in their motorhome, attending University of Michigan football games, and going on casino trips.
Ellen’s memory will be cherished by her daughter and son in law, Debi and Jim Grogg; granddaughters Jennifer Catey (Jim), and Melinda Wavra (Mike) and the apples of her eye, her treasured great-grandsons, Breckin and Brycen. Ellen also dearly loved her sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews and close friends Mary Lou and Bob Rau.
All memorial services will be held at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home-Gladwin. Family will receive guests on Monday, April 9, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Dave Mead on Tuesday, April 10, at 11:00 a.m. www.hall-kokotovichfuneralhome.com
