Duane Betz, 98, of Sanford, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023. Born on June 6, 1925, the son of Anton and Elizabeth Betz, in Hemlock, MI.
He married Rosalia Chavez on February 12, 1946, and together they created a lifetime of cherished memories until her passing in 2006.
Duane proudly served in the United States Navy, contributing to the nation's defense during his military service. A Head Operator at Dow Chemical, Duane dedicated his professional life to his work. He found joy and excitement in various activities, including playing softball, mountain biking, snowmobiles, and his love for motorcycles.
Duane is survived by his son: Michael (Barbara) Betz; daughter: Rosemarie (Dan) Mercer; grandchildren: Jacob (Shelly), Alicia (Mitch), Joshua (Stefani), and Erik (Ashley); great-grandchildren: Ellis, Emmett, Enslee, Brook, Molly, and Journey; and his significant other of 15 years: Mary Nielson.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Anton and Elizabeth Betz; son: Bruce Betz; and 13 brothers and sisters.
