Donna Detzler

Donna M. Detzler, 83, of Beaverton sadly passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at MidMichigan Medical Center. She was born on August 1, 1941, in Coleman, the daughter of the late Calvin & Thelma (Bauder) Herkel. Donna M. Detzler married Michael J. Detzler on March 17, 1962.

Donna was a beacon of love and wisdom, touching the lives of everyone around her, especially her cherished children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Donna had a profound love for planting flowers. Her garden was a vibrant testament to her nurturing spirit and deep appreciation for nature’s beauty. Each blossom reflected her care and dedication, and her garden was where we could all find peace and joy.

Donna was preceded in death by her partner of many years Gerald Hess; her husband Michael J. Detzler; parents Calvin & Thelma (Bauder) Herkel; In-laws Victor & Dorthy Detzler; son William D. Detzler; sister Marjorie M. Herkel; brother David L. Herkel; sister Deb K. Iafrate and leaves behind children, Steve & (Karen) Detzler of Beaverton; Victor & (Kimberly) Detzler of Alabama; Mary Detzler of Bay City; Step-Children (Darryl) & Wendy (Hess) Hartless of Texas; Dustin Hess of Mt. Pleasant; Jeffery Hess; Dawn Hess;  Grandchildren, Steven Hynes of Gladwin, (Keith) & Jeanne (Detzler) Kleinbriel of Mt Pleasant; (Art) & Kellie Day of Gladwin; (Max) & Nikkie (Detzler) Holmes of Beaverton; Jon Detzler & (Aj) Desco of Beaverton; (Ricardo) & Nichole (Detzler) Batalla of Midland; (Octavio) & Sarah (Detzler) Rendon of Alabama; Michael Detzler of Alabama; sister Gean Waldforgel of Midland; Sister In-Law Lynette & (Bob) Mejia of California; Sherri & (John) Thrill of California; many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; along with countless friends who felt her warmth and generosity.

We would also like to thank the following: Gladwin Nursing & Rehab Facility nurses and staff for their wonderful care during this time; Gladwin Emergency Room doctor and nursing staff for their wonderful care; and Hall-Kokotovich for their services.

Donna will be cremated and laid to rest in Warren Township Cemetery in Coleman, Michigan. To commemorate her incredible journey and to celebrate the love she spread, a celebration of life will be held in her honor on a future date.
