Donald Henry Wilber, 84, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away in Midland, Michigan on Monday, June 19, 2017. He was born in Charlevoix, Michigan on May 20, 1933 the son of Leon & Mildred (Sauder) Wilber. He was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country during the Korean Conflict. On March 8, 1996 he married Margaret Elizabeth Meilke in Las Vegas, Nevada. They shared 17 wonderful years together before she predeceased him in 2013. He had lived in Gladwin County since 1985, previously residing in Alaska, where he mined for gold and worked on the pipeline in the 1970’s. He owned the Silverleaf Laundromat in Gladwin and the Birch Haven Restaurant and Motel in Farwell. He is survived by his daughter: Cindy (Karl) Kapplinger of Midland; son: James Wilber of Gladwin. He was blessed with 8 beautiful grandchildren: Joe, Susan, John, Jami, Kevin, Melinda, David, Kyle and 7 precious great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by 3 step children: Alan, Lorie, Cindy. He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister: Evelyn.
