Donald Hoffman

April 2, 1947 — February 6, 2025

Donald Raymond Hoffman, age 77, of Gladwin, Michigan, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 6th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 2, 1947, in Pigeon, Michigan, to Albert and Marguerite Hoffman (Howard).

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy after graduating from Owendale-Gagetown High School in 1965. He married the love of his life Linda Dengler (Staudacher) on August 15, 1994. Don (D) was a dedicated mailman in Gladwin County for 22 years, known for his friendly demeanor and commitment to his community.

Don was a talented builder with a frugal and creative spirit. He enjoyed spending his time fishing with his brother-in-law Mike and playing cards with his grandchildren – sharing laughter and creating cherished memories. He had a special fondness for bonfires and Koegel's hotdogs, which often brought his family together. Music was another passion of his; he loved to sing, bringing joy to those around him. Some of his favorites were the Gaither Vocal Band and The Statler Brothers. An avid car enthusiast, Don had a particular affection for his El Camino which he enjoyed restoring for the past few years.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife: Linda; children: Chuck (Becky), Jason (Jen), Matt (Char), Meredith, and Melissa (Kevin); grandchildren Jake (Dustin), Andrew, Jack, Zac, Alyssa (Alex), Tristan (Hannah), Fletcher, Lucy, Weston, James, Ripley, and Lincoln; great-grandchildren: Aerith and Elias; sisters: June and Pattie; brothers-in-law: Mike (Judy) and Rob (Lynn); many nieces and nephews, and many special friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; sister: Sherrie; brother-in-law: Edward; grandchildren: Jackson, Joshua, and Jonathan; nephews: Matthew and Christopher; and niece: Chanda.

Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life is being planned for this summer. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate in his honor may consider Compassus Living Foundation (https://compassuslivingfoundation.org/give/) or Fentanyl Victims Network of North Carolina (https://fentanylvictimsnetworknc.org/donate/donate-to-fentvic/).
