Donald W. Hillier, 83, of Gladwin, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at MyMichigan Medical Center, Midland. He was born on June 10, 1939, the son of Wilbur and Josephine (Mather) Hillier in Clare. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. On December 15, 2000, he was united in marriage to Joanne (Epple) Hillier in Leaton. Don was a truck driver for Graham Transport in Brimley until his retirement. His hobbies were woodworking and farming. He was an avid woodsman and much of his work has been delivered throughout Michigan. He retired from woodworking at the age of 80. He was a very proud member of the Gladwin Community.
He is survived by his wife: Joanne Hillier; children: Deborah (Greg) Muma, Amy (Jeff) Van Ever, Joseph (Angie) Hillier, Michael Hillier, Joshua Hillier, all of Gladwin; step daughter: Charlene (Mark) Knoop of Weidman; 14 grandchildren: 4 great grandchildren; Joanne’s children: Janet (Bernie) Zeneberg of Mt. Pleasant, Mike (Sherrie) Myshock of Mt. Pleasant, Maureen Myshock of Gladwin, Mary (Ross) Laming of High Point, NC, John Myshock of Mt. Pleasant, Kristen (Kevin) Crawford of Shepherd, and Amiee (Chris) James of Gladwin; and 14 additional grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: JoAnne Cameron of Gladwin, Scott (Chari) Hillier of Gladwin, and Lisa (Kirk) McGuire of Inverness, FL; sister-in-law: Darlene Hillier of Gladwin; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Wilbur and Josephine Hillier; daughter: Cindy Hillier; brother: Jim Hillier; and brother-in-law: Paul Cameron.
Funeral Mass will be conducted by Father Marcel Portelli on Friday, October 28, 2022, 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gladwin. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 4-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, and on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass. Military Honors will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 7:00 P.M. during visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family or Gladwin American Legion Post 171.
