Donald E. Hillier, 95, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away in Kent Michigan on Monday, April 9, 2018. He was born in Clio, Michigan on November 27, 1922 the son of Ernest & Lois (Gere) Hillier. He was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country during World War II, and he was a member of the Harrison American Legion Post, Harrison, Michigan. On April 18, 1946, he was united in marriage to Emogene L. Roff in Clio. They shared 66 wonderful years together before she predeceased him in 2012. He moved from Clio to Gladwin in 1954 and he attended Our Savior Lutheran Church. He was employed with Chessie System Railroad as a Foreman until his retirement. His memory will be cherished by his daughter: Wendy (Tim) Mills of Sand Lake; son: Elias (Lisa) Hillier of Gladwin; son in-law: James Bailey of Gladwin. He was blessed with 12 beautiful grandchildren; 13 wonderful great grandchildren and one on the way; 3 precious great-great grandchildren and one more soon to arrive. He will be dearly missed by his sister: Kathleen Webb of Houghton Lake. He is preceded in death by his wife: Emogene Hillier; daughter: Paula Bailey; parents: Ernest & Lois Hillier; 3 brothers: Max, Jack and Wilbur Hillier; 3 sisters: Naomi Tarrant, Nellie Huber and Doris Leach. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor James Krach on Thursday, April 12, 2018, 11:00 A.M. with visitation beginning at 9 A.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 3-8:00 P.M.
