Donald J. Blades, 85, of Beaverton, Michigan passed away in Freeland, Michigan on Thursday, November 16, 2017. He was born in Gladwin County Michigan on July 21, 1932 the son of Dewey & Ruey (Freeman) Blades. He was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County and retired from Dow Chemical in Midland, Michigan in 1986 with 36 years of service as an Electrician. He loved his property and was a conservation advocate. He worked closely with the Little Forks Conservancy in Midland . His memory will be cherished by his sisters: Ruth Maxwell of Hope; Norma Maxwell of Beaverton; Mary Blades; Dawn Sauve and husband Tony both of Midland and many nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Kim Lewis on Sunday, November 26, 2017, 2:30 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 5-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton, Michigan. He will be laid to rest at Tobacco Twp. (Dale) Cemetery, Beaverton, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made according to the Little Forks Conservancy in Donald’s memory.
