Donald Glenn Gregg, born May 13, 1933, went home to be with the Lord on May 21, 2021. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, and was the son of Glenn R. and Dorothy L. (Clay) Gregg. He Married Erviline Sylvia Shaffer December 30, 1968. Then he married Ruby Fay Keys, February 28, 2001.
Don proudly served his country in Korea during the conflict in 1953 where he became a certified armor track vehicles (artilliary tanks) supervisor. He graduated from training as a heavy equipment mechanic. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He worked for the City of Dallas until he retired as the Master Heavy Equipment Technician.
Donald was nationally known for his avid interest and collection of vintage toy trains. He belonged to the Train Collector's Association for many years. His collection was of pre-war years. He was a man of many talents. His love for vintage cars and Ford trucks followed him through life. Puzzles and reading were his favorite pastimes. Don studied the word of God avidly, read all history on Israel and the United States. He loved God first, his country and family.
Donald leaves behind one daughter, Mary Jane Gregg (Chowchilla, California), four grandchildren, Michael and Michelle Mclaughin (Red Bluff, California), Gary Gregg (LaGrange, California), Amanda Gregg (Chowchilla, California), and Jesse Howlin (North Holywood, California). He has ten great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren (all in California). Don was predeceased by his wives Erviline and Fay.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. Viewing will be at 10 am with services at 11 am at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home at 440 E. Cedar Avenue, Gladwin, Michigan. Officiating will be Pastor Tony Reynolds of the Gladwin Church of Christ, including military honor. Memorials can be given to the Gladwin Church of Christ or the family.
