Dennis Joseph Curci, age 75, of Beaverton, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025. He was born on January 28, 1949, the son of Joseph and Sally (Brennan) Curci, in Norwalk, Connecticut. On October 23, 1985, Dennis married the love of his life, Dorothy Ann Babits. Together they shared many years filled with love and cherished memories. Dennis was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
Following his service, Dennis applied his hard work and dedication to his career, working up until February 2nd of this year as a Food Service Director of Operations. He was a dedicated worker, which resulted in him not having much time for hobbies, but he did find time to enjoy the outdoors. Dennis loved spending his time fishing, camping, and on their boat.
Dennis had a quiet strength about him. A man of few words, but when he spoke, it was usually with a sharp wit or a perfectly timed sarcastic joke. He wasn’t loud or showy, but he had this steady presence you could always count on.
Some of most treasured memories come from the family’s time living in Florida. He “taught” the kids to swim by tossing them into the backyard pool, trusting they’d figure it out—and somehow, they always did. Beach trips to Cocoa Beach and St. Augustine are core memories with time spent—catching white fish from the shore, soaking up the sun, and falling in love with excitement of fishing.
He had this hilarious kind of toughness. Sunburned shoulders, a tank top, Georgia Bulldogs shorts, puffing on a pipe or cigar while mowing the lawn. That was so him.
Dennis also had one of the strongest work ethics. No matter the job, he showed up early, stayed late, and gave it everything he had. He didn’t seek praise at work. He just did what needed to be done, and did it well. That quiet determination was inspiring. His example taught those around him to work hard, push through challenges, and never take shortcuts.
Dennis wasn’t overly sentimental, but his love was deep and constant. He gave those around him memories, laughter, and lessons to carry always. His jokes, his wildly overexaggerated stories, and most of all, the way he always made everyone feel safe, will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his beloved wife: Dottie; children: Rachael (Steve) Curci-Heath and Dennis J. “Chip” (Rachel) Curci; grandchildren: Abigail and Logan; and siblings: Patty Curci, Laurie Curci, and Joe Curci
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Eddie Curci.
