Denis P. Claveloux

October 19, 1931 — December 3, 2018

Denis P. Claveloux, 87, recently of Beaverton, Michigan passed away after a lengthy illness on Monday, December 3, 2018, with his wife Madeline at his side.  He was born in Union City, New Jersey on October 19, 1931 the son of Pierre & Anna (Azarian) Claveloux.  He received his Bachelors Degree from Fordham University, and his Masters from Columbia University.   He served in the Army in the Korean War.  He founded Claveloux, Mc Caffery, and Mc Inerney, an executive search firm in New York City, and Connecticut.   He married Madeline Primeau on October 23, 1998.  Denis lived in Westport and Fairfield Connecticut for over 40 years.  He and Madeline retired in Georgetown, South Carolina in 2004, where Denis enjoyed his love of the ocean filling his days with swimming and surf fishing.  It was there that the close and loving friendships were formed with the “Fabulous 10”:  John & Carolyn McBride, Judith & Pat Brambola, R.V. & Tess Wheeler, and Pat & Janet Smith; who walked with Denis & Madeline in joyous social gatherings, and brought comfort and support in his final days, as they moved to Michigan.  Left to cherish his memory is his wife: Madeline Claveloux of Beaverton, Michigan; son Guy (Yvonne) Claveloux of Westport, Connecticut; daughters:  Juliette Claveloux of Milford, Connecticut & Noelle Claveloux of Rhode Island.  His children blessed him with eight grandchildren:  Alex & Izzy Claveloux, Jaycie & Skyler Rose, and Jessica, Ashley, Morgan, and Kendal Hoyt.  He will be missed by his step daughters:  Anita Webber (Robb) of Hope, Michigan, Charity Roach (Tim) of Georgia, and Robin Cichocki of Westport, Connecticut, and step grandchildren:  Calvin Webber (Rachel), Brandon Webber, Blake Webber, of Michigan, and Cameron McDonald, Anna Roach, Sara Joy Roach of Georgia.   He is preceded in death by his parents; brother: Louie Claveloux; brother in-law: James Primeau. In accordance with Denis’ wishes he will be cremated, and a private memorial for family and friends will be held in SC at a future date. The Claveloux family would like to recognize the wonderful nurses from Hospice & Palliative Care Compassus. Without their standing at our side to guide us through Denis' last days and hours, we couldn't have helped him travel peacefully to his eternal resting place.  A heartfelt thank you, and true appreciation for your skilled compassion, at a very difficult time.
