Delores Dorothy Betke

Delores Simon Betke passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017. Delores was born to Jack and Frieda Simon on Friday, March 1, 1929 and was baptized as an infant in Detroit and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Oberlin, MI. She married Ernest Betke on November 20, 1948 and their loving marriage lasted 65 years. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2014. She is survived by daughter Janet (Andre) Re and sons Ronald, David (Linda) and Gary. Also, sisters Eleanor Hanson and Joan Beagle, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister Lillian (Richard) Martin, and recently her beloved brother in law Norman and his wife Doris. Delores was a lifetime member of the Lutheran Church and often volunteered for church and school activities; such as the ladies altar guild, school library mother and church dinners. She loved her German heritage and the holidays, especially Christmas, which was represented in her spirit and throughout her home for all that knew and loved her. She retired to Romeo and Gladwin, MI and then later to their home in McDonough, GA. Funeral services for Delores will be held Monday, September 18, 2017 at 11:00 am at Our Savior Lutheran Church 331 Clendening Rd Gladwin, MI 48624. She will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Gladwin. The family will receive friends on Sunday September 17, 2017 from 4 until 6 pm at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home 440 E. Cedar Ave Gladwin, MI 48624.
