David Johnston Jr.

David K. Johnston Jr., 72, of Beaverton, Michigan passed away at Mid Michigan Medical Center in Midland, Michigan on Friday, December 28, 2018. He was born in Spring Lake, Michigan on December 4, 1946 the son of David K. Sr. & Marion (Johnson) Johnston. He graduated from Spring Lake High School in the class of 1965. On January 10, 1981 he married Barbara Finn (Fox) in Spring Lake. David was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and he worked for Johnston Boiler in Ferrysburg. He had lived in Gladwin County for the last 13 years, previously residing in Muskegon, Michigan and he was a member of F.O.E. Albright Shores Aerie 3655, Beaverton, Michigan. His memory will be forever cherished by his son: Joshua Johnston of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter: Kimberly (Chuck) Christmas of Grand Rapids, Michigan; daughter: Stacey (Chris) Davis of Auburndale, Florida. His children blessed him with 9 grandchildren: Jacob, Cheyann, Jordan, Corey, Alex, McKenzie, Maiya, Sanjay & Neelahn. He is survived by his brother: Greg (Carol) Johnston; brother in-law and sister in-law: Jim & Cindy Fox; niece: Kristi (Greg) Bowlby and his nephew: Jay (Maren) Fox. He is preceded in death by his wife: Barbara Johnston and his parents: David K. Sr. & Marion Johnston. Honoring his wishes there will be no services at this time.
