Darlene L. Conner, 82, a lifetime resident of Gladwin, passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones, Monday, February 4, 2019. She was born in Gladwin on September 26, 1936, the daughter of Mervin & Lela (Parker) Grove. On December 9, 1952, she was united in marriage to her true love Dean Conner in Gladwin. He preceded her in death in 2001. Darlene was very passionate and hard working. She enjoyed a career as a bank officer through many transitions from First State Savings Bank, Mid-Michigan Bank, First of America Bank, National City Bank and PNC Bank until her retirement. She was also an elected treasurer for Grout Township, serving her township right up until the past few years. Darlene had many hobbies and interests but she was very proud of her association with the Assembly of God Church in Gladwin, Republican Party of Gladwin County, and Master Gardener’s. She held various positions for the Assembly of God Church and for the Republican Party. Several times she was acknowledged for her contributions and was once voted Gladwin County Republican of the Year. Left to cherish her memory are her 2 children: Maureen Conner of Lansing, Eric (Addie) Conner of Cedar Springs; 2 step grandchildren: Eric & Jacob (Katie), step great granddaughter: Michele, siblings: Valerie (Tom) Hindman of Gladwin, Orval (Judy) Grove of Mt. Pleasant, 2 sister in-laws: Beverly Grove of Gladwin, Barbara Conner of Beaverton, several nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband: Dean, parents and brother: Larry Grove. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Brad Withrow on Friday, February 8, 2019, 11:00 A.M. at the Assembly of God Church, Gladwin, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019, from 1-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan and on Friday, February 8, 2019, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery, Gladwin, Michigan.
