Darlene Chubb

Darlene Marie Chubb, 74, of Gladwin passed away at her home on December 12, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born to Alphonse and Catherine (Gregor) LeBlanc on November 22, 1949 in Detroit. On September 7, 1973 she was united in marriage to Lawrence “Larry” Chubb of Gladwin.

Darlene is survived by her loving husband, Larry, her children: Jackie Morgan and Gary (Amanda) Chubb; stepson: Billy (Corinna) Schuhmacher; grandchildren Bryce (Ashley), Emily, Evie, Georgia, and Alex; and great-grandson Mason. She is also remembered by her siblings: Stephen LeBlanc, Victoria Bowker, Armella LeBlanc, Lisa (Scott) Eurick, Kristine (Dale) Schwiderson, Marsha LeBlanc, and Christopher (Stephanie) LeBlanc, along with many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alphonse and Catherine; great granddaughter: Harlynn; and siblings Janice Cameron, Bruce LeBlanc, and Diane Legros.

Darlene committed her professional life to justice, serving as a paralegal for the Department of Justice United States Attorney’s Office for 27 years. She loved nature and spent hours cultivating her gardens, feeding wildlife and stray animals, and taking in the ocean during her winters in Florida. Feeding people was truly her love language and she took great pride in hosting family Thanksgiving each year.

Darlene was a proud member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Gladwin where she both worshipped and volunteered with her husband for decades. She particularly enjoyed her sewing club community.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Darlene’s life will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Gladwin. The family will receive guests from 10:00 AM until the start of the service. In lieu of flowers, Darlene asked that donations be made to A.R.K.
