Dale Vincent Dye, 88, of Gladwin, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He was born on March 24, 1931, the son of Paul & Josephine (Messersmidt) Dye in Wichita, Kansas. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country during the Korean War. He was retired after 25 years of service from the Ypsilanti Police Department, making the rank of Sergeant. In 1979 he was united in marriage to Barbara (Burgess) Woodrum in Ypsilanti. He was a member of the American Legion Post 282 in Ypsilanti and also a former member of the Fourty and Eight. Left to cherish his memory are his wife: Barbara Dye; daughter: Delora Bean of Belleville; and step-son: Tam Dawson Woodrum of Oregon. Honoring his wishes cremation will take place. Inurnment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan, at a later date.
