Claire Jacobson, age 101, of Gladwin, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Born on April 18, 1922, to Allen Frederick and Anna (Ruppe) in Windsor, Ontario.
On October 16, 1943, Claire married Douglas C. Jacobson in Neosho, Missouri, and together they shared 64 years of marriage until his passing in 2007. Claire was raised in Ironwood, and after the service, Claire and Douglas settled and raised their family in Bay City. She dedicated many years to the Sage Library and was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Claire possessed a love for reading and a passion for traveling.
Later in life, Claire moved to Gladwin, where she forged new friendships through her weekly hair appointments and created cherished memories. She was proud to be a member of the 100-Year Club for Dial-a-Ride. She is survived by her sons, Doug Jacobson and Robert Jacobson (Sondra Alexander); grandchildren, Mathew Jacobson (Vanessa), Ann Dubay David (Sean Ziegler), and Timothy Jacobson; and great-grandchildren, David, Jack, Elliott, and Harley.
Claire is preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law: Joan David; and seven siblings: Grace, Pearl, Florence, Allen, Charles, Robert, and Peggy.
Funeral services to celebrate Claire's remarkable life will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Claire will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery, Gladwin.
