Caroline Bokota

Caroline Bokota, 95, of Beaverton, Michigan passed away at her home on Thursday, April 12, 2018. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 3, 1922 the daughter of Frank & Elizabeth (Smigiel) Fifelski. On April 25, 1942 she was united in marriage to Joseph J. Bokota in Detroit. They celebrated 60 wonderful years together before he predeceased her in 2002. She had lived in Gladwin County since 1985, previously residing in Pontiac, and she was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Gladwin. She was employed at Pontiac General Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan as a desk clerk until her retirement.  Her memory will be treasured by her daughters: Toni Matteson of Texas; Sandra (Ken) Slater of Metamora, MI; Claudia (Dan) Whitmer of Beaverton; Marilyn Bokota also of Beaverton. She was blessed with 14 beautiful grandchildren: Steve (Carla) Henry, Carol (Bob) Hoag, Tammy, Justina, Ron, George, Rob, Bob, Matt, John, Sherry, Byron, Debra and Jacob and many precious great grandchildren. She will be missed by her sister: Dolores Caruso of Westland. She is predeceased by her husband: Joseph Bokota; son: Joe Jr.; daughter: Cheryl Bokota Yeager; parents: Frank & Elizabeth Fifelski. Funeral Mass will be conducted by Fr. Marcel Portelli on Thursday, April 19, 2018, 11:00 A.M., with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gladwin, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 3-8:00 P.M., with a Wake service at 7:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton, Michigan.
