Carole Reno

September 2, 1939 — April 5, 2024

Carole A. Reno, 84, of Frankenmuth, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024. She was born on September 2, 1939, in the home of her parents John and Stella Comaromi in Mt. Morris, Michigan.

Carole married her high school sweetheart, Billy D. Reno, in 1957. Their 66 beautiful years together were filled with laughter, hard work and travel adventures. Throughout their marriage, they embarked on countless excursions, traveling throughout all the United States. They may have visited every quilting store in the nation.

In her high school yearbook, her motto was “Merry as the day is long.” Generations of friends and family knew her trademark smile and kindness that let you know you were loved and important to her.  Gardening, canning and cooking Polish or Southern comfort foods was her specialty, and she said it would be apt to have “She made the dinner” on her gravestone.

As a dedicated and caring nurse, Carole led nursing care teams in retirement facilities in Frankenmuth, MI. Her caring bedside manner was matched only by her tenacious organization and managerial skills. People loved working with her. And, while she was successful professionally, she always said her most important role was as wife and mother—at which she was brilliant. In every endeavor, her dedicated and industrious spirit always made a difference.

It was Carole’s talent with needle, thread, yarn and fabric that left a mark on the hearts of hundreds of lives. Personally designed quilts and Christmas stockings were her specialty. She lost count after bestowing more than 700 stockings to friends and family. She cherished her knitting and quilting “girls” as she called them.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Mitchell Reno, and his partner Barry Kulick, her sister-in-law Elaine (Reno) Belling, and her nephews David Reno, Nick (and Denise) Comaromi, and Phil Comaromi.

Carole is preceded in death by her parents, John and Stella Comaromi, her husband’s parents Cortez and Hazel Reno, her brother John Comaromi (and Myung), her brother-in-law Ralph Reno, and her beloved husband, Billy D. Reno.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private service has been held for her immediate family. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com
