Carol Anne Weaver of Plainwell, Michigan died Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Gladwin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an 18 month battle with cancer. She was 61. Born July 21, 1956 in Gladwin to the late Harold and Anna (Polakova) Weaver she graduated from Gladwin High School in 1974 and Michigan State University in 1979. Carol’s love for nature led to her career as a biologist with the Department of Environmental Quality, from which she retired in 2007. She is survived by her sisters Bernadette Weaver and Linda (Tom) Winarski of Gladwin and her brother Robert (Pam) Weaver also of Gladwin, many nieces and nephews and special friend Don Cannon of Plainwell. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Monica. Honoring Carol’s wishes, no services will be held and her body was donated to Michigan State University’s Medical School for research and education. Those wishing to express their sympathy may consider a donation to the Nature Conservancy or Little Forks Conservancy. Carol’s family wishes to thank her friends in Plainwell who cared for her during her illness and the staff at Gladwin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of their compassionate care.
