Carol Thompson

Carol Lee (Brunke) Thompson, age 76, of Midland, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2024. Born on November 12, 1947, in St. Joseph, MI, she was the beloved daughter of Ralph and Emma (Bohl) Brunke. Carol married the love of her life, Tony Thompson, and they cherished 44 years of love and memories together.

A dedicated scholar, Carol earned her Associate Degree from Great Lakes Community College and went on to achieve a Bachelor's in Education from Michigan State University. Her commitment to her education was evident in her consistent placement on the Dean's List each year. For 27 years, Carol worked as an operations manager at Midland Fundraising, where she was adored by her colleagues. In her free time, Carol enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending quality time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years: Tony Thompson; children: Joshua Russell and Elizabeth (Ian) Wenger; grandchildren: Lia Wenger and Leighton Wenger; brother: Robert (Jolene) Brunke; and sister: Mary Ward.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Emma.
