Carlene Neelis, age 78, of Gladwin, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024. She was born on March 2, 1946, to Bill and Clella (Duckworth) Hall in Gladwin. Carlene was a dedicated worker, serving her community at the local Laundromat for 18 years and as a caregiver for 15 years. She cherished her time outdoors, particularly in her flower garden, and enjoyed birdwatching, sewing, and embroidery. Carlene loved taking trips, car rides, and spending time with her beloved dog, Daisy. Above all, she treasured moments with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her fiancé, Bill Austin; daughters Mandy (Darrin) McCreery and Cathy (Donald) Jones; grandchildren Joshua (Hannah) Jones, Kayla (Bill) Donnan, Heather (Gavin) Bennett, and Bethanie Jones; great-grandchildren Landon, Makenzie, Journey, Russell, Evelynn, and a great-granddaughter expected soon; as well as three brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ronald Neelis, and four siblings.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Gladwin. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com.
