Carl W. Gillespie

Carl W. Gillespie, 82, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Gladwin Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre. He was born on December 4, 1935, the son of James & Ruth (Yonker) Gillespie in Bay City, Michigan. On May 11, 1957, he was united in marriage to Shirley Knaub in Bay City. Carl was owner/ operator of Didier Auto Body in Bay City, until his retirement in 2002. He had a love for the great outdoors, and some of his hobbies included playing blooper ball and bowling. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 61 years: Shirley Gillespie of Gladwin; son: Dan (Kathy) Gillespie of Bay City; 3 daughters: Tammy (Randy) Long of Gladwin; Judy (Ronald) Becker of Bay City; Janet Gillespie of Bay City. His children blessed him with 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren & 2 more on the way. He is also survived by his sisters: Gloria Misiak & Charlotte Wanless;  brothers: James Gillespie, John Gillespie, Paul Gillespie, Raymond Gillespie, Robert Gillespie;; several nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Chris Slosser on Friday, September 21, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at the Beaverton Church of God. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018, from 2-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton, Michigan. He will be laid to rest at Floral Gardens Cemetery, Bay City, Michigan.
