“Skip” Calvin D Greenman of Burton, Michigan was called to worship at the throne of God on July 8, 2020. He was a legend to so many.
Born on July 15, 1955, Skip lived a life of adventure, impacting so many people along the way. He was strong and full of life even until the very end. He loved Jesus, missions trips, scuba diving and his German Shepherd. He enjoyed popping wheelies with his grandbabies on his ATV and was an excellent marksman, always hitting the target. His daughters suspect he karate kicked open the gates of heaven where Jesus welcomed his good and faithful servant. Skip had a third degree black belt in karate and enjoyed practicing kata with his friends at the Swartz Creek Dojo. He was known to many as the “Matco Man”, the best in the business, not just because he could fix anything, but because he loved people, and they loved him. He cared deeply for his congregation at Bethel Assembly of God, where he served as a deacon for over 25 years. He had a great compassion for animals, and was on the board of Los Gatos Foster Animal Rescue.
He will be forever in the heart of his adoring wife of 45 years, Robin Greenman. He was the hero to his children: Amanda and Bradley Vickers, Alaina and John (Matt) Rutledge, and “unk” to James Hyatt. He left an incredible legacy for his grandchildren, Gabriel, Blair, Axton, Liliana and Skylynn. His happiest moments were spent with them. He leaves behind his sister, Judy Ledford, several favorite nieces, nephews, close friends and precious family members. He had a gift of making everyone feel like they were the most important person in the world, and he would want you to know that you were his favorite. His life was a testimony to his faith. He would remind us to put our trust in Jesus during this difficult time.
A special thank you to the many friends who have surrounded him throughout his life, but especially during the last few months.
