Bonnie Ellen McKimmy, 86, of Beaverton, passed away peacefully at her home after a long battle from renal kidney failure. She was born on August 31, 1934, in Durand, the daughter of Volney and Lillian (Rounds) Dennison. She married Howard D. McKimmy on October 17, 1953, in Beaverton. Bonnie was a homemaker who raised four children, volunteered with the Beaverton PTA, school district and church. She was also a member of the Beaverton Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by two sons: David of Midland and Toby of Beaverton, two daughters: Ellen (Pat) Kent of DeWitt, Teresa (Javian) Coats of Gladwin, four grandsons: Billy McKimmy of Flint, Lyle and Luke Coats of Gladwin, Cullen Kent of DeWitt. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law.
She is preceded in death by her husband, brother, and parents.
Services will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, August 6, 2021 at the Beaverton Church of the Brethren in Beaverton with visitation starting at 10 A.M. The family will be accepting guests at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Beaverton on Thursday, August 5, 2021, from 3-8 P.M. Burial will be at Tobacco Township (Dale) Cemetery in Beaverton. Memorial contributions can be made out to R.O.A.R, Rescue of Beaverton, Heartland Hospice Care, or to the Beaverton Church of the Brethren.
