Billy Reno

October 5, 1937 — September 5, 2023

Billy Davis Reno, 85, of Frankenmuth, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. He was born on October 5, 1937, the son of Cortez and Hazel (Davis) Reno in Belmont, Mississippi. He graduated from Mt. Morris High School and attended Mott Community College. He served his country in the United States Army 101st Airborne Division from 1957-1960. He married his high school sweetheart Carole Comaromi in 1958. She loved him dearly. During their 65 years together, the couple travelled extensively and were beloved by all those with whom they crossed paths. After starting his career in skilled trades at General Motors, he rose through the ranks of the United Auto Workers. In his role as on the UAW executive staff, he represented 65,000 skilled trades members in North America. He was admired throughout his career for his integrity and honor. Amassing an amazing knowledge on many topics, he was known as an excellent negotiator and an intuitive communicator with a keen attention to detail.

To friends and family, Bill was known as the man you could count on when you needed help and advice. He quietly served the people in his life with a profound sense of caring and servitude. His friendly approach and jovial spirit were matched only by his tenacity and drive to do what was right.

He is survived by his wife, Carole Reno; son, Mitchell Reno (and partner Barry Kulick); sister: Elaine (Reno) Belling; nephews David Reno, Nick (and Denise) Comaromi and Phil Comaromi. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Ralph (Al) Reno.
