Betty May Brunett, 84, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 18, 2017. She was born in Whigville, Michigan on February 13, 1933 the daughter of Claude C. & Alta M. (Emmons) Wheaton. On August 2, 1952 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Eugene Edward Brunett in Lapeer County Michigan. They shared 54 wonderful years together before he predeceased her in 2006. She was employed with General Motors, Fisher Body Coldwater Plant in Flint, Michigan until her retirement. She had lived in Gladwin County for the last 40 years, previously residing in North Branch. She was raised in Fostoria, Michigan and graduated from Mayville High School. She was a past Cub Scout Den Mother when her boys were young and she enjoyed camping, vacations to Wyoming hunting, singing, dancing and crocheting. She was a member of F.O.E. Secord Lake Aerie 4121 Auxiliary. Her memory will be forever cherished by her children: David (Tammy) Brunett of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; Sandy Brunett of Gladwin; Randy “Hoss” (Bev) Brunett of Fostoria; Gary Brunett of North Branch. She was blessed with 6 beautiful grandchildren: Krystol (Paul Huth) Rappuhn of Grosse Pointe Farms; Andrea (C.J. Payne) of Lapeer; Anthony Brunett and Christopher Brunett both of Spring Hill, Kansas; Samantha (Chris) Alberda of Flint; Andrew Brunett of Flint; 3 step grandchildren: Keilei, Kaleb and Karlee Kotsko and 1 great grandchild: Olivia Grace Alberda. She is also survived by her brother: Gerald Wheaton of St. Helen; sister: Gertrude (David) Berlin of Otter Lake and many nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband: Eugene E. Brunett; great granddaughter: Annabelle May Alberda; parents: Claude & Alta Wheaton; brothers: Lawrence Wheaton; Donald Wheaton; Howard Wheaton; sisters: Adeline Wheaton; Jenny Hoard; Lillian Ratza; Geraldine Snyder and Evelyn Norton. Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place and Memorial Services are being planned for a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan.
