Bernard L. Robinson, 82, of Coleman, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at MyMichigan Health in Midland, Michigan. He was a loving father, well-respected businessman, and friend to many. Those who knew him best always called him “Bin” or “Binny”.
Bin was born on March 21, 1940 in Clare, Michigan to Ardis (Staley) and Frederick Robinson. His children will miss him significantly: Ardis (Robin) Foster, Jennie (Tim) Ewert, Nazali (Dan) Wood, Nadia (David) Habecker, and Roby Robinson. He loved his grandchildren dearly: Jenna McCummings, Jarred Ewert, Shauna Puchel, Brent Habecker, Zachary Ewert, and Aly Korson. He leaves 10 great-grandchildren behind who will always remember him as Grand Dad. His loss will also be felt by his siblings Inez Kaleto (sister) and Treva Robinson (sister-in-law). He was preceded in death by his parents Ardis and Fred Robinson, his brother Ron Robinson, and grandson Zachary Ewert.
Bin received his bachelor's degree in business from Central Michigan University and worked at Robinson Industries from its inception in 1947. He was the President & Chief Operating Officer of Robinson Industries and President of Homestead Tool & Machine (and subsidiaries) in Coleman, Michigan.
Bin enjoyed being outdoors and would often be seen walking barefoot with his daughter Ardis and his dogs. He loved boating, gardening, caring for animals on his property, canning items from the garden, and cooking. He was a master at finding a “great deal” and found enjoyment in that. He was known for being kind, generous, and down-to-earth.
