Barbara Carper, 84, of Gladwin, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023. She was born on August 10, 1938, the daughter of David and Anna Cooper in Detroit. On March 31, 1979, she was united in marriage to Cullie "Corkey" Carper in Gladwin. He preceded her in death in 2005. She worked as a mail clerk for Providence Hospital until moving to Gladwin. She loved riding in the car, going out to eat, and being with family. She enjoyed word searches, group activities at the nursing home, where she was recently named Valentines Queen.
She did not have any biological children, but by marriage she is survived by her husband's children: Nanette (Ahmad) Ramahi, Sarah Carper-Reinke, Wendy Wheeler, Daphne (John) Horvat, and Peggy (David) Alvey; 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother: Carl Cooper.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, April 15, 2023, 11:00 A.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at Arbutus Cemetery, Beaverton. www.hall-kokotovichfuneralhome.com
