Arthur Joseph Perkins Jr., 81, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 21, 1936 the son of Arthur Sr. & Margaret (Jones) Perkins. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. On October 17, 1959 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Carol Nagle in Detroit. They shared 51 wonderful years together before she predeceased him in 2010. Arthur had lived in Gladwin County for the past 20 years, previously residing in Livonia, Michigan and he was a member of F.O.E. Gladwin Aerie 3292, and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Gladwin.  He was a devoted father, grandfather and an avid golfer. He was a great storyteller, he loved his beer, family and friends. His memory will be forever cherished by his daughters: Leslie (Tim) Sullivan of South Lyon and Sharon Griffin of Brighton. His children blessed him with 6 beautiful grandchildren: Stephen, Daniel, Brianna, Kara, Caylin and Grace. He is preceded in death by his wife: Carol Perkins; daughter: Catherine Tabor; parents: Arthur & Margaret Perkins; and his brother: Daniel B. Perkins. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place and Memorial Services will be conducted by Reverend J. Thomas Downs on Sunday, August 6, 2017, 12:30 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan. Memorial Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made according to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Gladwin, Michigan.
