Antoinette “Toni” C. McCarthy, age 83, of Gladwin, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025. She was born on July 10, 1941, the daughter of Margaret Trzcinski, in Detroit. In 1962, she married the love of her life, Thomas McCarthy, and together they dedicated themselves to starting and raising a family in Royal Oak. They shared many years filled with love and cherished memories until he preceded her in death in 2009.
Antoinette was a committed member of the Secord Lake Eagles Aerie 4121, serving as Auxiliary Madam President for one term, and District President for one term; she was also very involved at the state level. She enjoyed being active in her community, showing support and giving back when she could. She loved spending time with her Eagles family, going to casinos, playing pool, golf, and finding every opportunity to laugh and enjoy time with her family and friends. When she was younger, in addition to raising her children, she enjoyed bowling and playing softball.
She is survived by her children: Jennifer (Bruce) Lockman, Danny (Anne) McCarthy, and Helen Pratt; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; siblings: Vivian Owens, Steven Foster, and Roseann Streetman; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. McCarthy, and children, Thomas W. McCarthy Jr. and Erin L. Sams.
