Allen R. Havens

Allen Raymond Havens, 89, of Beaverton, Michigan passed away at his home with his loved ones by his side on Monday, July 23, 2018. He was born in Flint, Michigan on May 23, 1929 the son of Marion & Martha (Hulbert) Havens. Allen moved to Tobacco Township in 1936 and attended Beaverton High School, graduating in the Class of 47. On June 25, 1948 he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, June Marie McKimmy. They were married 66 years before she preceded him in death in 2015. He was employed by Dow Chemical becoming a Journeyman Pipefitter/Welder. After 10 years of employment at Dow, he went to work for UA Local 85 Saginaw. He was a member for 48 years. He was a member of Beaverton Church of the Brethren and was a retired Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. Among his many hobbies were farming, swimming, hunting, fishing, singing, building machinery & camping. Left to cherish his memory are his 6 children: Jerry (Ann) Havens of St. Louis, Michigan; Diana (Ray) Stevens of Poulsbo, Washington; Beverly Havens of Beaverton; Raymond (Mary) Havens of Coleman; Brenda Havens of Beaverton; Vicki (Brian) Winton of Midland. His children blessed him with 10 grandchildren & 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters: Sally Adgate of Grand Rapids, Michigan & Letha Havens of Midland. He is preceded in death by wife and parents. Memorial Services will be conducted by Pastor Bill Raymor on Friday, August 10, 2018, 4:00 P.M., with visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. at the Beaverton Church of the Brethren, Beaverton, Michigan.
