Richard "Dick" Aspin

Richard “Dick” Aspin, 85, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away on January 17, 2017, at the Gladwin Pines Nursing Home. He was born on November 10, 1931, the son of Howard C. & Dorothy A. (Watson) Aspin in Auburn, Michigan. On July 3, 1952, he was united in marriage to Patricia Bartlett in Bay City, Michigan. Dick was a veteran of the National Guards, and was employed by Dow Chemical as a master tradesman machinist millwright, retiring after 38 years in 1991. He has lived in Gladwin County since 1993, previously residing in Midland, Michigan. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Gladwin and the Secord Eagles Aerie 4121. Dick was a true blue Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers fan, he also enjoyed snowmobiling, bowling, vacationing with family and friends, and loved the great outdoors. He will be forever cherished by his wife of 64 years: Patricia Aspin of Gladwin; daughter: Sandra (Dana) Bryan of Greenville, Michigan; son: Timothy R. (Tana) Aspin of Gladwin; grandchildren: Devon, Michael, Joel, Devon (Jessica) Bryan, Michael (Lindsay) Bryan, Joel Bryan and friend Kirstin; great grandchildren: Alexis, Chanse, Madison, Macy and Landon; sister: Carol (Bob) Vidal of Cincinnati, Ohio; several nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter: Talisa. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor David Amstutz on Friday, January 20, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church, Gladwin, Michigan. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 19, 2017, from 3-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan. He will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery, Gladwin, Michigan.
