Archibald "Archie" Menzies

Archibald “Archie” Menzies, 88, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away at Mid Michigan Health in Midland, Michigan on Wednesday, January 11, 2017. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland on August 16, 1928 the son of Archibald & Agnes (Allan) Menzies.  On December 2, 1950 he was united in marriage to Betty Jane Bacon in Ferndale, Michigan. He was a proud veteran of the Scottish-English Army. He had lived in Gladwin County since 1988, previously residing in Madison Heights, Michigan. His memory will be forever cherished by his daughter: Lynda (Jerry) Bieniek of Caseville; son: Allan Menzies of Bentley; daughter in-law: Ruth Sabrosky of Hazel Park. He was blessed with 9 beautiful grandchildren: Miechelle Pfeiffer, Danielle Shoemake, Tracy Tomalak, Jarred Menzies, Jesse Menzies, Alicia Menzies, Eric Menzies, Daniel Menzies, Billy Roberts; 23 wonderful great grandchildren and 3 precious great-great grandchildren. He will also be dearly missed by his sister: Betty Marr of England; sister in-law: Martha (William) Cunningham and several other family members. He is preceded in death by his wife: Betty Jane Menzies; son: William Menzies; daughter: Crystal Menzies; granddaughter: Becci Adcox; 1 sister: Nessie Clark; 1 brother: William Menzies. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place and Memorial Services will be conducted on Saturday, January 21, 2017, 1:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan.
