John "Jack" Whitehead

John “Jack” H. Whitehead, 81, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, January 9, 2017. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 18, 1935 the son of John & Edna (Muir) Whitehead. On May 26, 1972 he was united in marriage to Virginia Edwards in Inkster, Michigan. They celebrated 43 wonderful years together before she predeceased him in 2015. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving his country during the Korean Conflict. John had lived in Gladwin County for the past 37 years, previously residing in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, and he was a member of F.O.E. Gladwin Aerie 3292. He loved watching football and he was an avid fan of watching western movies. His memory will be forever cherished by his daughters: Chris (Don) Powers of Emmett; Jeannette Tew of Sterling Heights; step-daughters: Patricia Judson (John Guyer) of Lake; Carol (Gary) Rinko of Warren. He was blessed with many beautiful grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He will also be dearly missed by his sisters: Patti Kaiser of Warren; Edna Brothers and several nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife; daughters: Lorie Truski; Ann Whitehead; Virginia Brand; son: Jon Whitehead; parents; sister: Jeanne. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor James Krach on Saturday, January 14, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 3-7:00 P.M.
