Deborah E. Mahaffy, 49, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away at Saginaw Covenant Cooper on Wednesday, January 4, 2017. She was born in Owosso, Michigan on March 27, 1967 the daughter of Gerald & Sharon (Hathon) Smith. On June 12, 1993, she was united in marriage to her true love, Michael C. Mahaffy in Gladwin, Michigan. She had lived in Gladwin County since 1993, and was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church. She was the office manager for the Sugar Springs P.O.A., current treasurer of the Gladwin County Republican Party, as well as co-owner of Rule’s Lawn Service. Her memory will be forever cherished by her loving husband of 23 years: Michael Mahaffy of Gladwin; parents: Gerald & Sharon Smith of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; brothers: Daniel (Amy) Smith of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; Donald Smith of Williamston, Michigan; grandmother: Ethel Smith of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; in-laws: Lyle & Ruth Mahaffy of Gladwin; brother in-law: Steve (Terri) Mahaffy of West Branch, Michigan; multiple nieces & 1 nephew. She is preceded in death by her twin sons: Jacob & Joshua Mahaffy. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Scott Bradstreet on Monday, January 9, 2017, 12:00 P.M., with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, Gladwin, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 8, 2017, from 2-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan. She will be laid to rest at Butman Township Cemetery, Gladwin, Michigan.
