Robert C. Wilton, 73, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away at the University of Michigan Health System, Ann Arbor, Michigan, due to a sudden blood protein disease on Monday, January 2, 2017. He was born in Pontiac, Michigan, on February 26, 1943, the son of Grant & Lenora (Neinstedt) Wilton. He married his true love Kathy Rederstorf in 1988, sharing 28 wonderful years together. Bob was a dedicated union member of UAW Local 653. He retired from General Motors in 1990, having served as the Health and Safety Representative for the UAW at the Pontiac Fiero Plant. His passion for politics and golf was only shadowed by his love of his family & friends. Bob was always willing to help another person. He willingly volunteered his time and energy to help our community at any time. Bob voluntarily served on the Springfield Township Fire Department, Secord Fire Department, Secord Fire Board, Secord Road Committee and Secord Township Hall Building Committee. Bob was also a member of the Gladwin County Democratic Party and the F.O.E. Secord Lake Aerie 4121. He loved his life in Gladwin County for the past 27 years. His memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife: Kathy Wilton of Gladwin; his only daughter: Dana (Grant) Anderson of Clarkston, Michigan; Grandpa Bob to Acie & Locke Anderson; brother to Nancy Postal, Joyce & Bob Peterson, Janet Goodall, Bill & Janet Wilton, Sally Madison and Frank, Tom & Karen Wilton all of Florida. Brother in-law to Vern & Doris Rederstorf of West Bloomfield, Michigan; Uncle Bob to many loving nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; son: Joseph Wilton; sister in-law and brother in-law Jim & Mary Carter; in-laws: Julia & Floyd Rederstorf; brother in-laws: Ed Goodall, Ray Postal and Bob Madison. Honoring his wishes cremation will take place and Memorial Services will be conducted by Pastor Eugene Thamer on Saturday, January 14, 2017, 1:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan. The family will receive visitors on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 6-8:00 P.M. and on Saturday, January 14, 2017, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
