James A. Weiss

James “Jim” A. Weiss, 83, of Beaverton, Michigan passed away at Mid Michigan Health on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. He was born in Alpena, Michigan on July 23, 1933 the son of Edward & Irene (Dairy) Weiss. On September 3, 1955, he married the love of his life, Joan G. Albert in East Detroit. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, proudly serving his country during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as an electrician for the Macomb County Road Commission, retiring in 1995. He had lived in Gladwin County since 2000, previously residing in Macomb Township. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace (St. Anne) Catholic Church of Edenville, and also a member of the VFW Post St. Clair Shores, Michigan. He was a very loyal and devoted family man and enjoyed hunting, horses, and his dogs. His memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife of 61 years: Joan Weiss of Beaverton; children: Tom (Darlene) Weiss of Beaverton; Bob (Cheryl) Weiss also of Beaverton; Sue (Dan) Dugger of Lenox. He was blessed with 7 beautiful grandchildren; 6 wonderful great grandchildren; 2 precious great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers: Joe & George; 2 sisters: Mary & Betty. Funeral Mass will be conducted by Father Dan Fox on Friday, December 9, 2016, 11:00 A.M. with visitation beginning at 9:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Grace Church, Edenville, Michigan.
