Sharon Thurston

Sharon Thurston, 70, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away suddenly on Monday, December 5, 2016. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 17, 1946 the daughter of Charles & Wilma (Austin) Curtiss. In 1984 she was united in marriage to Gerald Thurston in Gladwin and he predeceased her the following year in 1985. She had lived in Gladwin County since 1980, previously residing in Harrison, Michigan and she presently owned and operated Thurston Glass in Gladwin since 1980. She was a member of the Gladwin County Genealogy Society, the Kiwanis and she was a huge supporter and devoted volunteer for the Gladwin County Animal Shelter. Her memory will live on in the heart of her only son: Scott Curtiss and friend Brenda Kuehnmund of Gladwin; grandchildren: Matt; Eric and Amanda; great grandchild: Layne and 1 more on the way. She is preceded in death by her husband and parents. Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no services at this time.
