Jon C. Sherwood

Jon Craig Sherwood, 63, of Beaverton, Michigan passed away at Mid Michigan Health in Midland on Tuesday, November 29, 2016. He was born in Highland Park, Michigan on June 11, 1953 the son of Ray Lodell & Mary Ann (King) Sherwood. On June 11, 1977 he was united in marriage to his true love, Susan O. Schultz in Gladwin, Michigan. He was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country during the Vietnam Era. He lived in Gladwin County for most of his lifetime, and he was a member of the American Legion and the Michigan Township Participating Plan. He was employed as a Trustee for Beaverton Township from 1988-2016 and he previously worked for Midland County Equalization Department for 25 years, and also was the Director for the Gladwin County Equalization Department. His memory will live on in the hearts of his loving wife of 39 years, Susan Sherwood of Beaverton; his only son: Steve (Kelly) Sherwood of Gladwin and his precious granddaughter: McKynzie Sherwood of Gladwin. He will be dearly missed by his brother: Mike (Brenda) Sherwood of Williamson, Georgia; sister: Shari (Walt) Offenbecker of Beaverton; sister: Jeannie Pechette of Redford; father in-law: William Schultz of Gladwin; sister-in-laws: Mindy (Byron) Pohlman of June Lake, California; Jill (John) Butler of Reno, Nevada; brother-in-laws: Darrell Weber of Sanford, Michigan; Bill (Sally) Schultz of Pontiac, Michigan; several nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister: Lori; mother in-law: Bonnie Schultz; sister-in-law: Jeanne. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services at this time.
