Marvin J. Whitfield, 63,
of Gladwin, Michigan passed away at his home on Saturday, November 19, 2016. He was born in Tecumseh, Michigan on January 22, 1953 the son of Samuel & Anna (Leonard) Whitfield. He was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country during the Vietnam Era. Marv was employed as a diesel mechanic for Waste Management Services, retiring in 2005. He was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County and a member of the Gladwin Moose Lodge 287. He is survived by his son: Matthew (Stephanie) McClure of Beaverton; daughter: Valerie (Nick Jr.) Searfoss of Gladwin. His children blessed him with 3 beautiful grandchildren: Tiffany, Kaylin and Reegen. He will also be dearly missed by his 3 sisters: Wendy Ouimet of Beaverton; Penny (Don) Greaves of Gladwin; Mary (Jim) Mawhorter of Gladwin; 3 brothers: Sam (Kelly) Whitfield of Gladwin; Jerry (Rhonda) Whitfield of Prudenville; Perry (Cynthia) Whitfield of Gladwin; several nieces & nephews; special friends: Jim Mossner, Pam Southwell and Mike Armstrong. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother in-law: Neil Ouimet.
Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place and a Memorial Service will take place at the Buckeye Township Hall on January 21, 2017 at 1 pm. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan.
