Junior James Maxwell, 83, of Beaverton, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2016. He was born on September 8, 1933, the son of John & Bertha (Havens) Maxwell in Hope, Michigan. He graduated from Beaverton High School in 1953. On June 7, 1953, he married Norma Jean Blades at the Beaverton United Methodist Church. He worked at Dow Chemical for 36 years as the head engineer at the Southside Powerhouse. He was also an avid horse trainer, blacksmith, judge, and instructor. Junior was one of the original 4-H leaders at the 4-H Hope Trail Blazers. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years: Norma Jean Maxwell of Beaverton; 2 daughters: Diane (Tim) Hubbel of Beaverton; Carole (Steve) Monoghan of Beaverton; 2 sons: Dave (Vickie) Maxwell of Freeland; Dennis (Melissa) Maxwell of Beaverton; 13 grandchildren: Christie, Jimmy, Stephanie, Charlie, Jennifer, Carrie, Heidi, Derek, Ethan, Bryer, Kaitlynn, Kennedy; 14 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren: Candy Gehringer & Jessie Maxwell. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Duane Koontz on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton, Michigan. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, from 3-8:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton, Michigan. He will be laid to rest at Dale (Tobacco) Township Cemetery.
