Claude R. Bartholomew

Claude R. Bartholomew, 81, of Comins, Michigan, passed away at Mid Michigan Health in Alpena, Michigan on Saturday, September 24, 2016. He was born in Cadillac, Michigan on July 19, 1935 the son of Lester & Florence (Lee) Bartholomew. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Shull Transport in Gladwin as a mechanic. He had lived in Iosco County for the past 19 years, previously residing in Gladwin, and he was a member of the F.O.E. Comins Aerie 3544. He was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed playing cars, and scratch of lottery tickets. Left to cherish his memory is his daughters: Kim (Mark) Heath of Bay City, Michigan; Brenda (Scott) Simpkins of Gladwin. He was blessed with 5 beautiful grandchildren: Mindy; Brandon; Jessica; Caitlin; Laura and 2 wonderful great grandchildren: Grace, Eden, and Holden who is on the way. He is also survived by 3 sisters: Donna Hobart of Florida; Ruth Smith of Davison; Martha Austin of Swartz Creek; 2 brothers: Melvin Bartholomew of Eaton Rapids; Harry Bartholomew of Texas. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Bartholomew; parents: Lester & Florence Bartholomew; 2 brothers: Clifford & Larry Bartholomew; special friend: Vonnie Tanner.
