Norman Dale Peck, 88, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away at The Villa of Rose City on Sunday, September 18, 2016. He was born in Pontiac, Michigan on June 23, 1928 the son of Lynn & Margureite (Stocker) Peck. On February 4, 1950 he was united in marriage to his true love Alice Burnett in Dryden, Michigan. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was employed as a cattle buyer for Vogt Packing in Dryden, retiring in 1993. He wore many hats throughout his lifetime as he was owner of Standish Stockyard Inc. in Standish, Michigan and also worked as a Realtor. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dryden and Administrator of the Gladwin Moose Lodge 287, achieving the status of Pilgrim Degree. He had lived in Gladwin County since 1973, previously residing in Imlay City and Dryden. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed playing horseshoes, billiards and golf. His memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife of 65 years, Alice Peck of Gladwin; son: Dale (Vicki) Peck of Ocala, Florida; daughters: Cynthia (Gregg) Chapman of Marathon, Florida; Debbie (Howie) Upleger of Flushing, Michigan; Melanie (Tim) LeVasseur of Gladwin, Michigan; Sherry (Wally) Cunningham of Flushing, Michigan; son: John (Karen) Peck of Gladwin, Michigan. His children blessed him with 18 beautiful grandchildren and 22 wonderful great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter: Kay Halstead; parents: Lynn & Margureite Peck; brother: Richard Peck; sister: Maralyn Schewmake. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life Service will be held in his honor on Thursday, September 22, 2016, 4:00 P.M. at the Gladwin Moose Lodge 287. Those wishing to send an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers are asked to consider The Villa of Rose City.
