Shirley J. Kell

Shirley J. Kell, 78, of Gladwin, MI, passed away peacefuly at Mid Michigan Health, Midland, MI, on Thursday, September 15, 2016. She was born the daughter of Harold & Effie Lee (Ables) Nichols on August 9, 1938, in Otisville MI. She married Porter Kell in 1977. She was employed by General Motors for 26 years. Shirley lived in Gladwin since 1981, previously residing in Flint MI. She was a charter member of F.O.E. Secord Lake Aerie 4121 Auxiliary. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter & son-in-law Deborah Lee & Chris GoForth, Son & daughter-in-law Robert & Beverly Carter, 6 grandchildren & 14 great grandchildren; step children Brenda Dosch, Linda Tucker, Danny Kell, Curt Kell, Vicky Spivy, Debbie Smith; 16 grand children; 29 great grandchildren; sisters Charlotte Smurthwaite & Carol Terrell. She is preceded in death by her husband Porter Kell, her parents & her brother. Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no memorial or burial services. She will be buried at Ridge Cemetery by Porter Kell's side and among many long time friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pardee Cancer Fund Midland, MI. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin MI.
