Doris Doloris Betke

Doris Doloris Betke, 87, of Frankenmuth, Michigan passed away at Bavarian Comfort Care in Frankenmuth on Monday, August 15, 2016. She was born in Pierce, Nebraska on December 29, 1928 the daughter of Fredrick & Elizabeth (Ahlman) Dommer. On May 11, 1958 she was united in marriage to Norman Betke in Colusa, California. She was a homemaker living in Gladwin County since 1996, previously residing in St. Ansgar, Iowa. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Gladwin and she was very actively involved in the Republican Party when she resided in Iowa. She enjoyed working in her yard, had an appreciation for art and loved music, especially Opera. She leaves her loving husband of 58 wonderful years, Norman Betke of Frankenmuth to cherish her memory. Her memory will also be cherished by her 4 daughters: Rebecca (Mark) Schoepp of Gladwin; Rachel Betke-Mena of Yuba City, California; Ruth (James) Sandridge of Gladwin; Katherine Betke of Gladwin; Her children blessed her with 10 beautiful grandchildren: Holly, Christy, Stephen, Sarah, Timothy, Theodore, Jenica, Isaac, Samuel and Gideon; 11 precious great grandchildren; sister: Ernastine Goforth of Clear Lake, California and several nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister: Shirley, brother: Eugene; son in-law: Tito. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor James Krach at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Gladwin, with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. She will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery in the City of Gladwin. Those wishing to send an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers are asked to consider Our Savior Lutheran Church.
