Roger W. Moon

Roger W. Moon, 78, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016. He was born in Gladwin on March 24, 1938, the son of Paul & Velma (Reavely) Moon. On June 19, 1965 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Patricia Powley in Gladwin. He graduated from Michigan State University, earning his degree in Journalism, and he became a huge Spartan fan. He was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County and 2nd generation owner/operator of the Gladwin Record & Clarion, retiring in 1993. Roger was an avid golfer, Hall of Fame bowler, and enjoyed nature and hunting. He was a member of the Rotary and faithfully served on the Gladwin Rural & Urban Fire Department for 32 years, attaining the position of Assistant Fire Chief. His memory will live on in the hearts of his loving wife of 51 wonderful years, Patricia Moon of Gladwin; son: Tracy (Tammy) Moon of Gladwin; daughter: Renee (Jamie) Felix of Oxford; son: Shane (Kimberlee) Moon of Clarkston. His children blessed him with 7 beautiful grandchildren: Kailin, Emily, Lakin, Jessa, Avery, Alexis and Blaise. He will also be remembered by his brother: Wayne (Shirley) Moon of Carmel, California and 2 nephews: Eric and Dave. He is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Duane Miller on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, 12:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. He will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery, Gladwin, Michigan.
