Rose M. Steele, 82, of Beaverton, Michigan passed away at Mid Michigan Gladwin Pines on Friday, July 29, 2016. She was born in Hope, Michigan on June 30, 1934 the daughter of Cecil & Marie (Havens) Crosby. On May 3, 1952 she was united in marriage to her true love, Richard E. Steele in Gladwin. They shared 32 wonderful years together before he predeceased her in 1984. She was a homemaker and lifetime resident of Gladwin County. She was a member of the Midland County Genealogy Society and very much enjoyed volunteering her time for this and other organizations throughout Gladwin County. Her memory will be forever cherished by her son, Robert (Tammy) Steele of Houghton Lake and daughter, Cristyn Steele of Gladwin. She was blessed with 3 beautiful grandchildren, Preston (Becky) Steele of Jenison, Nicole (Brian) Combs of Houghton Lake and Kassie (Doug) Macon of Houghton Lake as well as 3 great grandchildren, Tessa, Isaac, and Brilynn. She will also be remembered by her sisters, Shirley (Max) Guernsey of Beaverton, Doris Steele of Midland, brother, James (Ellen) Crosby of Decatur, Tennessee and many nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her son Joseph, husband, parents, brother, Wendell (Bing) Crosby, sister Marlene Schultz and sister Carol Bradshaw. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, August 4, 2016, 11:00 A.M. with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan. Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place and her final resting place will be Grout Twp. Cemetery, Gladwin, Michigan.
